Scaffold Tower Hire For HVAC Engineers

Working around ductwork and plant

Ceiling cassettes, duct runs, AHU access, condenser installs — most of it is two-person work with an awkward unit to hold. A tower with a 2.5m platform gives you both operatives and the unit on the same level.

Which tower

Long platform, narrow footprint

The 750mm × 2.5m single width tower gives you reach along a duct run without repositioning, while still fitting service corridors and plant rooms.

Service rounds

The folding tower is right when you are visiting several sites in a day — flat in the van, up in ten minutes.

Higher commercial ceilings

The 4m mobile tower for retail, warehouse and open-plan office ceilings.

Loading the platform

Safe working load is 275kg — that includes the operatives. A two-person team plus a heavy indoor unit gets close to the limit. Lift units separately rather than carrying them up the tower.

Booking and delivery

Choose your delivery date, hire length and postcode on the tower page and the total is calculated before you check out. Delivery and collection are charged once per order.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have towers for plant rooms and high ceilings?

Yes. For plant rooms the usual choice is a mobile tower in the working height you need, and for tall industrial volumes the stairway tower gives you a staircase rather than a ladder — worth it when the team is up and down all day. Measure the clear height above the base as well as the reach: you need room to build the tower, not just to stand on it.

The plant room door is narrow. Will the tower get in?

Components for every tower we hire pass through a standard doorway; the assembled 1.35m platform does not. Measure the narrowest point on the route, including any turn at the top of a stair, and tell us at booking — we will tell you which platform sizes will actually reach the room.

Can I lift a ceiling unit from the platform?

Load limits are on the manufacturer's plate fitted to the tower and in the assembly guide supplied with it. Please work to that plate rather than to a figure quoted over the phone — it is the only figure we can stand behind. If you need the load class confirmed in writing before booking, call us and we will send the manufacturer's documentation.

How long do plant room jobs usually need?

A week is the minimum and covers most single installations. Plant room work has a habit of running on once panels come off, so if the programme is uncertain it is usually cheaper to book two weeks than to extend twice.

Can I move the tower along a duct run?

On a mobile tower, yes — unlock the castors, move it with nobody on it, lock them again, then re-check the stabilisers before climbing. On a long run that is the main reason to choose a mobile tower over a fixed platform.

The plant room floor is uneven. Does that matter?

Yes, more than most people expect. The tower needs firm level ground that carries the load through the castors or base plates. Adjustable legs handle a slope or a step; they do not fix a soft or hollow floor. Tell us at booking what the floor is like and we will tell you whether the tower is the right tool.
