Those codes reach further than the town sign does: Aston, Bayford, Bengeo Rural, Benington and Bramfield fall inside them, and we deliver there on the same terms. Painting a single-storey extension or garage

A flat-roof extension, a garage or a porch rarely needs more than a 4m working height. People often over-hire here and end up with a tower that will not fit down the side of the house. If the whole job is at one level and you are up and down with a brush and a tin, the smaller tower is easier to move along the wall as you go.

Signage, banners and event rigging

Short jobs at height are where towers beat ladders outright, because you can put the tools down. 4m to 5m covers most signage. If it is a one-day fit in a busy spot, think about where the tower stands while you are not on it — locked castors and stabilisers need their footprint for the whole hire, not just while you are up there.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in Hertford, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
