At 16 miles Watford is towards the outer edge of our free band, and it stays free — delivery and collection are included in the hire price. Because it is a longer run, the calendar is stricter about which days it offers here; it only shows dates we can actually meet. We cover WD17, WD18, WD24, WD19 and WD23.

Those codes reach further than the town sign does: Batchworth, Croxley Green and Watford Rural fall inside them, and we deliver there on the same terms. They also run over the boundary into Harrow, Hertsmere and Three Rivers, so if your address is nominally in the next borough it is very likely still on our route. Watford shares a run with Bushey, Northwood, Radlett and Elstree, so if the job moves between sites in that direction it is the same delivery either way.

You choose a morning or afternoon window when you book. We do not promise timed hour slots, because on these roads that would be a promise we could not keep. Tell us if the carry from a legal stopping point is long, if there are stairs, or if parking needs a permit — those are the things that turn a fifteen-minute drop into an hour.

Which tower for your job?

Tree work, hedges and garden walls

Garden ground is the catch here, not the height. A 4m to 6m tower is plenty for most hedge and wall work, but the base has to be firm and level — soft lawn, a slope or a set of steps changes the answer. Tell us what the tower will stand on when you book and we will tell you honestly whether a tower is the right tool for it.

Rendering, repointing or a gable end

Gable work runs higher than gutter work — usually 7m to 8m — and it is slower, which means you want deck space for a board, a bucket and a second pair of hands. If you can reach the wall across open ground, the 1.35m platform earns its keep: fewer trips up and down is the whole saving on a rendering job.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in Watford, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
