Hire Terms
Summary
These are the terms you agree to when you hire a tower from us. The short version: hire is by the week, you look after the tower while it is with you, you use it safely, and we collect it on the agreed date.
> These terms are written in plain English and follow standard UK hire practice. > If anything here is unclear, call us before you book and we will explain it.
1. The hire period
1.1 Minimum hire is one week. Hire periods run in whole weeks. We do not hire by the day — if you need a tower for a single day, it is charged as one week.
1.2 The hire starts on the delivery date shown on your order and ends on the collection date shown on your order. Both dates are included in the hire.
1.3 To extend, call us on +44 7366 166 658 before the collection date. Extensions are charged at the applicable weekly rate.
1.4 If a tower is still on site after the agreed collection date without an agreed extension, we may charge the standard weekly rate for each further week or part week.
2. Price and payment
2.1 Prices shown on the site include VAT at the prevailing rate.
2.2 Payment is taken in full at the time of booking.
2.3 Delivery and collection are free within 30km of our yard — North and East London, south Hertfordshire and west Essex. Beyond 30km and out to approximately 90km a flat charge of £45 applies, covering both the delivery and the collection, charged once per order rather than per tower. We do not deliver south of the Thames.
2.4 We do not take a damage deposit. Payment is the full hire charge and nothing is held back or pre-authorised on your card.
2.5 Hire three or more towers on one order and a 15% discount is applied automatically at checkout.
2.6 The table below is the full list of what the weekly price does and does not cover. Every product page links here rather than repeating it, so there is one place to check and one place for us to keep correct.
| In the weekly price | Charged separately | |
|---|---|---|
| The tower | Frames, platforms, guardrails, toeboards, stabilisers, lockable castors, diagonal and horizontal braces | — |
| Delivery | Both legs within 30km of our Cheshunt yard | £45 both legs beyond 30km, once per order |
| Time | Seven days from the delivery date, and each further week at the same rate | — |
| Assembly | Assembly guide, and the manual with the tower | Installation and dismantling by us, if nobody on site is PASMA trained |
| Money held | Nothing — no deposit, no card pre-authorisation | Damage or loss beyond fair wear and tear (clause 4) |
| VAT | Included in every price shown | Never added at checkout |
2.7 Nothing above is conditional on order size. A single 4m tower and a ten-tower order are covered by the same terms; the only thing that changes with quantity is the discount in clause 2.5.
3. Your responsibilities
While the tower is in your possession you are responsible for it. You agree to:
3.1 Use the tower only for its intended purpose and within the safe working load shown on the manufacturer's plate fixed to the tower and stated in the assembly guide supplied with it. That load covers everything on the platform — the people as well as the tools and materials.
3.2 Ensure that anyone building, altering, moving or dismantling the tower is PASMA trained or working under the direct supervision of someone who is.
3.3 Follow the manufacturer's assembly instructions supplied with the tower.
3.4 Deploy stabilisers and lock the castors before use, and never move the tower with a person or materials on the platform.
3.5 Not use the tower in high wind. Stop work and come off a free-standing tower at around 17mph, and dismantle or tie it down at 25mph, unless the manufacturer's guidance supplied with the tower says otherwise.
3.6 Keep the tower secure and protected from theft and weather damage.
3.7 Not modify the tower, mix components with other systems, or use damaged parts.
4. Ownership, risk, damage and loss
4.1 The tower stays ours. You have the right to possess and use it for the hire period. You do not own it, and you must not sell, hire out, pledge or part with it, or let anyone place a charge over it.
4.2 Risk passes to you on delivery and stays with you until we have collected the tower and it is back in our possession. That includes any period after your hire end date while the tower is still waiting to be collected.
4.3 Tell us straight away if the tower is damaged, lost or stolen, or if anyone is injured in connection with it. Call +44 7366 166 658 the same day and follow up by email so there is a record.
4.4 You are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of components damaged beyond fair wear and tear.
4.5 Total loss. If the tower is damaged beyond economic repair, lost, stolen, seized or confiscated, you are responsible for its full replacement cost, and hire continues to be charged until the day you tell us.
4.6 Fair wear and tear means normal marking from ordinary use. It does not include bent, cracked or missing components, paint or plaster damage, or damage caused by overloading or misuse.
4.7 Insurance. While the tower is on hire you should insure it for its full replacement value against loss, damage, fire and theft, and hold public liability cover appropriate to your work. This is standard across the UK hire industry and is the hirer's responsibility, not ours. If we ask, you must show us proof of cover.
4.8 How we assess damage. Every tower is inspected on return against the condition it left the yard in. If we find damage beyond fair wear and tear, or a missing component, we will tell you within five working days of collection, with photographs and an itemised breakdown of what is being charged and why.
4.9 What you will be charged. Either the cost of repair, or the replacement cost of the component, whichever is lower. We charge the component, not the whole tower — a bent brace is a brace, not a new tower. We do not add a handling fee or an administration charge on top.
4.10 If you disagree. Tell us within 14 days of receiving the breakdown and we will send the inspection record and the supplier price we used. We would rather resolve it on the phone than argue by email.
4.11 No deposit, no card hold. We do not take a damage deposit, and nothing is pre-authorised or held on your card. Any charge under 4.9 is invoiced after the inspection, never taken automatically.
4.12 We do not sell a damage waiver. Some hire companies add an optional waiver at 5% to 15% of the hire charge. We do not — the rules in this section apply to every hire on the same terms, and the price you see is the price you pay. If you want cover for accidental damage, that is what your own plant or hired-in insurance is for (see 4.7).
4.13 Acceptance. By placing an order you accept this section. It is the basis on which the tower is hired to you, and it applies whether or not you read it before you booked — as it does with any hire company. If anything here is unclear, call us on +44 7366 166 658 before you book and we will explain it.
5. Delivery and collection
5.1 We deliver to the address on your order in the slot you chose.
5.2 You must provide safe and reasonable access for delivery and collection.
5.3 The tower must be fully dismantled and accessible on the collection date. If it is not, we may charge a failed collection fee of £45 and continue charging hire until it is collected.
5.4 We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our control, including traffic, road closures, weather and site access problems.
6. Cancellations and refunds
6.1 You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your delivery date. We refund in full to the original payment method.
6.2 Cancellations inside 24 hours of the delivery slot may be subject to a charge covering the slot and the vehicle we have reserved for you.
6.3 Consumers (not businesses) have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Because hire is a service with an agreed start date, those rights may be limited once the hire has begun. Nothing in these terms reduces a consumer's statutory rights.
7. Our liability
7.1 We supply towers that are inspected and fit for purpose at the point of delivery.
7.2 We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of contract or other indirect losses arising from the hire.
7.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
8. Consumers and businesses
8.0 Some of these terms apply differently depending on whether you are hiring as a consumer (for purposes wholly or mainly outside a trade or profession) or as a business. Where the law gives consumers stronger rights — for example on cancellation, or on goods being as described and fit for purpose — those rights apply and nothing here reduces them.
9. General
9.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
9.2 We may update these terms. The version that applies to your hire is the one published when you placed your order.

Frequently asked questions
Do you take a deposit or hold my card?
No. We do not take a damage deposit and we do not place a hold on your card. You pay the hire when you book and nothing else is taken automatically. If a tower comes back damaged we assess it and invoice separately — the process is set out in full in these terms.
What happens if something is damaged?
We assess the tower within five working days of collection and send you photographs with the assessment. You are charged the lower of repair or replacement, never both, and you have fourteen days to dispute it. Fair wear and tear is not chargeable. We do not sell a damage waiver — the rules are in these terms instead, and placing an order means you accept them.
Is there a minimum hire period?
One week. Even if you only need the tower for a day, the charge is one week — that is how the price on every tower page is calculated, so there are no surprises at checkout. Longer hires are in whole weeks.
