You choose a morning or afternoon window when you book. We do not promise timed hour slots, because on these roads that would be a promise we could not keep. Shopfront work is usually 4m and the complication is the ground, not the height. The stabilisers need their footprint on the pavement, so tell us at booking if the frontage is narrow or the bay is controlled — that changes the slot we give you, and it is a lot cheaper to plan for than to discover on the day.

Rendering, repointing or a gable end

Gable work runs higher than gutter work — usually 7m to 8m — and it is slower, which means you want deck space for a board, a bucket and a second pair of hands. If you can reach the wall across open ground, the 1.35m platform earns its keep: fewer trips up and down is the whole saving on a rendering job.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in St Albans, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
