Those codes reach further than the town sign does: South Mimms and Ridge fall inside them, and we deliver there on the same terms. They also run over the boundary into Enfield, Haringey and Hertsmere, so if your address is nominally in the next borough it is very likely still on our route. Cockfosters is covered from here too — we do not run separate pages for them, but the van goes. Barnet shares a run with Southgate, Mill Hill, Potters Bar and Finchley, so if the job moves between sites in that direction it is the same delivery either way.

You choose a morning or afternoon window when you book. We do not promise timed hour slots, because on these roads that would be a promise we could not keep. A first-floor flat with a communal stair

Flats are the classic case for the narrow tower. The 750mm components go up a communal stair and round a landing; the wide ones do not. 5m to 6m covers most first-floor and second-floor work. Check where you are allowed to stand it, too — communal ground often has rules the freeholder cares about more than you do.

Cladding, weatherboard and timber repairs

Board work runs the full height of an elevation, so you will be moving the tower along rather than reaching sideways from it — never lean out past the guardrail to save a move. 6m to 8m covers most two- and three-storey elevations, and the wider deck is worth it for the length of board you will be handling.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in Barnet, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
