At 16 miles Brentwood is towards the outer edge of our free band, and it stays free — delivery and collection are included in the hire price. Because it is a longer run, the calendar is stricter about which days it offers here; it only shows dates we can actually meet. We cover CM14, CM13 and CM15.

Those codes reach further than the town sign does: Blackmore, Hook End and Wyatts Green, Doddinghurst, Herongate and Ingrave, High Ongar and Kelvedon Hatch fall inside them, and we deliver there on the same terms. They also run over the boundary into Basildon, Epping Forest and Havering, so if your address is nominally in the next borough it is very likely still on our route. Pilgrims' Hatch, Warley and Hutton are covered from here too — we do not run separate pages for them, but the van goes. Brentwood shares a run with Upminster, Hornchurch, Havering and Romford, so if the job moves between sites in that direction it is the same delivery either way.

You choose a morning or afternoon window when you book. We do not promise timed hour slots, because on these roads that would be a promise we could not keep. Small first-floor jobs are where width matters more than height. 4m to 5m reaches it, and if the only way through is a hallway or a side passage you want the 750mm platform — the components pass through a standard internal door, which the 1.35m built tower does not. It is a ten-minute job that turns into a wasted morning with the wrong tower on the drive.

Surveys, inspections and photography

For a look rather than a job, the smallest tower that reaches is the right one — it goes up faster and moves more easily between elevations. 4m gets you over a single-storey roof; 6m puts you at a two-storey gutter. A folding tower is worth considering if you are visiting several positions in a day.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in Brentwood, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
