At 13 miles Romford is towards the outer edge of our free band, and it stays free — delivery and collection are included in the hire price. Because it is a longer run, the calendar is stricter about which days it offers here; it only shows dates we can actually meet. We cover RM1, RM7, RM2, RM11 and RM5.

They also run over the boundary into Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge, so if your address is nominally in the next borough it is very likely still on our route. Romford shares a run with Havering, Chadwell Heath, Hornchurch and Barking and Dagenham, so if the job moves between sites in that direction it is the same delivery either way.

You choose a morning or afternoon window when you book. We do not promise timed hour slots, because on these roads that would be a promise we could not keep. Which tower for your job?

A first-floor flat with a communal stair

Flats are the classic case for the narrow tower. The 750mm components go up a communal stair and round a landing; the wide ones do not. 5m to 6m covers most first-floor and second-floor work. Check where you are allowed to stand it, too — communal ground often has rules the freeholder cares about more than you do.

Roofline and bargeboards on a three-storey

Three-storey frontages need 8m or more, and at that height the setup matters as much as the tower. It needs firm, level ground and the stabilisers out to their full span. If the only standing is soft or sloped, tell us before you book rather than working it out with the tower already on site.

Two questions decide the size

How high do you need to reach? Measure to the highest point you need to touch and take off about two metres — what is left is the working height, and that is the number on every tower page here. There is a worked table in the height guide.

How will it get there? If you can reach the elevation across open ground in Romford, take the 1.35m platform — the extra deck pays for itself on any job where two of you are working with materials up there. Where the only route is through the house or down a narrow side passage, switch to the 750mm platform instead; that one goes through a standard internal door.
